€1 charge when adding a bank card

Adding an external bank card to the application is free of charge.

Simulation of a transaction

Each time a customer adds an external card to the application, a request is sent to the card-issuing bank to activate 3D Secure security. This action protects against card theft or unwanted use.

A transaction of €1 is simulated to activate this security. This amount is never debited; it is a bank authorization that is requested and then cancelled.

A very rarely visible operation

The vast majority of customers never see this transaction. However, holders of certain immediate debit cards, such as prepaid cards, are notified in real time of this authorization.

Some banks do not interpret the cancellation of this authorization. In this case, the amount may remain blocked for 10 days, before being credited back to the bank account.
