About Lydia money pots
Money pots are accounts associated with an online page where money can be collected. They are free to create and having the app is not required to contribute to a money pot.
Creating a money pot
Customers can create a money pot from the home screen by clicking on "Create a new account" (or click here from a phone).
Customers can then access their money pot by clicking on the “Other Accounts” button on the main screen.
Settings and sharing the online page
Customers can personalize their money pot's online page from the app.
From the settings of the online page, they can also share it with their contacts.
Fees
Money pots are free for:
- the owners;
- the participants who the app;
- the participants who contribute to the money pot IBAN via wire transfer.
A 2.5% commission fee applies for contributions made using a bank card from the online payment form.
Contributions without the app
Participants don't need to download the app or to create an account to contribute.
They can open the money pot link in a browser on a computer or on a phone and pay via card or wire transfer.
Accepted cards
CB, Visa, Mastercard, Electron, Maestro and business cards are accepted if issued by establishments in the following countries:
Austria; Belgium; Canada; Croatia; Denmark; Finland; France; Germany; Greece; Ireland; Italy; Luxembourg; Malta; Monaco; Netherlands; Norway; Portugal; Spain; Sweden; Switzerland; United Kingdom.
Contributions with the app
If customers have the app on their smartphones
Tapping the money pot link will automatically open the app where customers can contribute.
Customers can pin the money pot to save it, follow its evolution, or contribute later.
From a web browser
Customers can contribute to the money pot by opening the link in a web browser. They can choose to participate with their app and will receive a payment request they have to validate in-app.
Tracking contributions
Money pot owners can view all the contributions in the money pot history.
They can be immediately notified (via email and/or notification on their phone) for every new contribution.
In cases where commissions were applied due to contributions made outside of the mobile app, an overview of the expenses is available in PDF format in the "Documents" screen.
Using the money collected
- Transfer money to another account in-app.
- Send money to a phone number or to an email address.
- Retrieve the money on an external bank account via wire transfer.
Amount and contribution limits
For legal reasons, owners have to verify their identity before they can spend the money collected if it amounts to above €150.
Archiving
Once a collect is over and the money pot balance is €0, owners can directly archive it from the money pot screen.
From that point on, the online page is no longer accessible and no further contribution can be made.
Reporting
To report a money pot, customers must write to customer service using the subject line "Report a money pot".
To facilitate the control, customers should disclose:
- The first and last name of the money pot owner;
- The URL link to the relevant money pot;
- The reasons for this reporting.
