About the new Lydia IBAN

Since summer 2023, Lydia has provided its users with a new IBAN. They can access it from the application's second tab or by clicking here from a smartphone.

A visible sign of Lydia's growing autonomy

Behind this technical change lies some very good news for Lydia and for every user.

At the beginning of 2023, Lydia was registered in France with the bank code 17598, specifically as an electronic money institution providing payment services. This means that the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution, the body of the Banque de France that regulates the banking sector, has deemed that Lydia is now capable of providing all its payment services autonomously.

In particular, Lydia can now provide and operate its own IBANs for its users, and no longer needs to go through a partner to do so.

This can be seen on the Lydia RIB: users who download their new Lydia RIB will notice that the BIC code is now "LYDI", like Lydia, and no longer "TRZO" (for Treezor, the partner through which Lydia used to provide IBANs).

An IBAN like any other

When using Lydia on a day-to-day basis, users will notice no difference between the previous Lydia IBAN and the new one (apart from the associated BIC code, as mentioned above).

The new Lydia IBAN functions in the same way as the previous one, i.e. it can be used to receive bank transfers, as well as for recurring payments (e.g. a telephone subscription) and other direct debits (e.g. taxes).

Users who were using their previous Lydia IBAN need to communicate their new IBAN to their relatives, employer, electricity supplier, etc.
This article explains how to do this.
